Renault Duster 2026: The Icon Returns
The Renault Duster is back in India, and it means business. Launched on March 17, 2026, the third-generation Duster enters the midsize SUV segment with a starting price of just ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom), offering exceptional value against rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
Built on Renault's new RGMP platform, the 2026 Duster features a bold, rugged design with LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a segment-leading 212mm ground clearance. Inside, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, and ventilated front seats make it feel far more premium than its price suggests.
Two turbo-petrol engines — a 1.0-litre and a 1.3-litre — power the lineup at launch, with a strong hybrid variant arriving by Diwali 2026.
Four years was a long wait. The Duster was worth it.

Renault Duster 2026: The King of Midsize SUVs Is Back in India
After a four-year hiatus, one of India's most beloved SUVs has made a triumphant return. The Renault Duster 2026 was officially launched on March 17, 2026, and it has already created a storm in the midsize SUV segment. With a starting price of just ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Duster brings a compelling package of rugged design, modern technology, and powerful performance — all at a price that's hard to ignore.
A Design Built for India
The 2026 Duster is thoroughly re-engineered on Renault's new RGMP platform with India-specific touches that set it apart from the global model. The front fascia sports bold 'DUSTER' lettering on the grille, eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs, and muscular skid plates that reinforce its adventurous character. On the sides, black body cladding, C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, and up to 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels give it a stance that commands attention.
At 4,343mm in length and with a 212mm ground clearance — among the best in its segment — the Duster is equally at home on smooth city roads and rough, uneven terrain. Ten colour options, including Mountain Jade Green, Sunset Red, and Stealth Black, ensure there's a shade for every personality.
Performance & Powertrains
The 2026 Duster is offered with three powertrain choices. The entry-level 1.0-litre Turbo TCe 100 produces 100 hp and is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. For those seeking more punch, the 1.3-litre Turbo TCe 160 delivers 163 hp and 280 Nm, available with either a 6-speed manual or a smooth 6-speed DCT automatic. ARAI-claimed mileage figures of up to 18.45 kmpl make the Duster efficient for daily city commutes as well.
The headline act, however, is the upcoming 1.8-litre strong hybrid variant, arriving by Diwali 2026. Producing a combined 160 hp, it promises up to 80% all-electric driving in city conditions — a game-changer in this segment. Demand has been so strong that hybrid bookings for 2026 are already completely sold out.
Feature-Rich Cabin & Safety
Inside, the Duster punches well above its price tag. The cabin features a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and 48-colour ambient lighting — features typically found in far pricier SUVs.
On the safety front, the 2026 Duster is the first Renault model in India to offer Level 2 ADAS, along with 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, all-wheel disc brakes, and electronic stability control. Renault is targeting a full 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and backs the SUV with a 7-year / 1,50,000 km warranty.
